Using GoBigWest Web Space
As a GoBigWest subscriber, one of the features that is included in your account is the freedom to use a substantial amount of space on GoBigWest’s server for storage of files or to post your own personal web page. The use of this space is a slightly more advanced topic than standard emailing or web browsing activities, but interested users should have no trouble navigating through the GoBigWest help pages.
Your server space is basically a folder where you can store data in an online location. To place documents, files, or images in this folder you have to transfer the files from your computer to your designated folder on GoBigWest’s server. After you have done so, you can access these files from any computer that has Internet access. This is an easy way for you to move files from one computer to another without having to copy them to disk and without having to email them as attachments, a process that is far more time consuming. Also, by placing HTML files in your online folder, you can create a web page that Internet users all over the world can view.
In future letters, we will go into more detail about using your personal server space and in sharing files and posting web pages. If you would like more information right away, however, please browse to the help section of the GoBigWest homepage. Here you can find information about setting up and using programs to transfer files to your server space as well as programs that can be used to create your own personal web page.
